The Story Project

Digital Education Programming Presented by the
Center for Health & Wellbeing

Stories are powerful. They have been with us for centuries and can affect us deeply. Stories can move us to tears, change our attitudes, opinions, and behaviors, and even inspire us. Every one of us has a story within, just waiting to be written and shared.
In this Zoom program, you’ll join writer and blogger Liz Kitchens as she shares a story from her own life and explains how the simple act of writing the story has helped her face anxiety and fear. Liz will then guide the group through a creative writing exercise designed to help participants capture their own stories.

Please note: no prior writing experience is required to participate! Please come to this program with paper and a writing utensil.

By participating in this program, you can expect to:

  • earn what the scientific research says about changes to our brains when we listen to a story.
  • experience the benefits of connecting to another person’s story through listening to the presenter’s tale.
  • begin capturing your own story by participating in user-friendly writing exercises.

This program is presented by Liz Kitchens and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.
