About Your Program Presenter
Indrani Acosta, MD is passionate about serving a broad patient group across the Central Florida community. She currently serves as the medical director for stroke for AdventHealth Central Florida. Dr. Acosta completed her residency in neurology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine and was the recipient of the Outstanding Dedication & Commitment in Stroke award. She completed her fellowship in stroke at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She is a member of the American Heart Association, the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Neurology and the American Medical Association. Dr. Acosta is fluent in English and Spanish.
Benjamin Johnson-Markve, PsyD, ABPP-CN , an adult neuropsychologist, and the professional staff at Medical Psychology Associates provide residents of Central Florida with neuropsychological evaluations as well as intervention and treatment for cognitive, behavioral and emotional aspects of complex medical conditions. Dr. Johnson-Markve offers inpatient rehabilitation services at AdventHealth Orlando and Winter Park campuses, as well as performing outpatient neuropsychological assessments for patients with a variety of neurological disorders including stroke, brain tumors, dementia, epilepsy, and head injury.
Gayle Shepherd, RN, AdventHealth Maturing Minds Program Manager, is an experienced professional with a history of working in the hospital & health care industry. She is skilled in clinical care, patient advocacy and nursing education with a focus in geriatric care. She has a passion for helping others and manages the Maturing Minds program at AdventHealth, offering free virtual support groups to those caring for someone suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or Dementia.
