Stroll down memory lane with your favorite Disney films. Stacey Malaret, Director of the LEAD Scholars Academy at the University of Central Florida, reviews video clips from early films and discusses the princess character in each, their feminist traits – or lack thereof – and how these traits relate to what was going on at the same time in the U.S. women’s rights movement. Watch to learn about the most current Disney princess films and see how much has changed over the years.

By watching this program, you can also expect to learn about the:

  • history of Disney princesses;
  • relation of Disney’s release dates to the Women’s Rights Movement;
  • insight into various Disney princesses and their feminist/non-feminist traits.

This program is presented by Stacey Malaret and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.
